Mary or Martha?

A few days ago we got some news...

The DRC has halted all exit visas for adopted children. What does this mean? Well that is what we have been asking our selves for the past several days.

In all of the worry a wonderful friend reminded me of something. she said "Stop being Martha!" She reminded me that sometimes we need to sit a Jesus' feet and just let him teach us.

Luke 10:38-42

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Right now we don't know exactly when the DRC with begin issuing exit visas again, we do know that they assure us it is temporary, and we do know that we are still several months from even needing our visas for our boys.

Most of all we know that God has called us to this journey, and that he has a story that he is trying to tell as well. We are praying that things move with a speed that can only be of God and that in the meantime the rest of our adoption process would continue as normal.

Would you pray with us that we could be Mary's right now and not worry about tomorrow and what it will bring but concentrate of what God is trying to teach us today!

In other news we did find out that the boys had a recent medical and Liam has been recovering from malaria. Would you please pray that God would keep our boys safe and healthy and provided for!

Thank you for your continued prayers and support in this journey!
